Valkyrie Theater of Dance
and Drama is a non-profit
corporation and is organized for the following purposes:
Outreach programs that aid
in the rehabilitation of abused women and children, at risk teenagers
and special needs children and adults through the teaching of
music, dance, drama, poetry, art and film making.
Professional artists who are
working in these particular disciplines are hired to teach and
take the arts into the community through drop-in and counseling
centers, domestic violence shelters and after school programs.
The participants are working with experienced artists toward
a joint collaboration of what they are creating and then are
produced in the form of plays, film, exhibitions or presentations.
Valkyrie Theater is seeking
funding from grants and foundation organizations. Initially,
performances by teachers and students will also serve as fund
raisers.
