Valkyrie Theater of Dance Drama and Film is moving into a new facility in July 2011. We will be bringing our dance drama program to Learning Works School in Pasadena. What excites me about Learning Works, is that they will just not let a teenager go, no matter how many times they find themselves in trouble. Starting in July, Valkyrie's workshop will be on Mondays from 1-4:00 pm. Learning Works is in the process of aquiring a new gym which will allow Valkyrie to resume its normal three days (9 hours a week schedule) in the fall.
The students will receive school credit for participation in the Valkyrie Program

Valkyrie will also me producing a short film entitled "Trapped". It will be directed by Nunzio Fazio, award winning director of Valkyrie's documentary, "From the Midst of Pain.", which recently won Best Documentary at the Mohave Film Festival, Best U.S. Documentary at the Swansea Bay Film Festival in Wales, UK, and a gold medal in Park City Film and Music Festival. Mr. Fazio also received Director's Choice Award at the Park City Film and Music Festival.
The film "Trapped" is about discrimination, and we will be using as many students as possible from the Valkyrie/Learning Works program. The students chosen to be in the film, will receive extra school credits.
